Money comes and goes governments fall, corruption can be corrected, but there is no way you can buy culture, history, architecture. I find mexicans one of the proudest people around, despite you not feeling proud of Mexico. Even the annoying mariachis (sorry guys, I don't like rancheras, but I think it's great to have a recognizable music), the food, the handcraft, the joy, the dance, the tequila. The US you admire so much would love to have 1/8 of the ancestral culture of Mexico, the Aztecas, the Mayas.
